Mark Lawrence and Ben Reichley host the monthly 'Financial Friday' look at the nation's record breaking jobless rate and related topics. Guests--Bob Garrett, Pres/CEO Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce and Sue Greene, Chair of the GSVCC. On the UPMC Susquehanna Susquehanna Sunbury closure, we hear from Roger Haddon, President and CEO Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation, and past chairman of the board of Evangelical Community Hospital, and currently a board member (he spoke as an informed private citizen, not 'for the hospital'), Joanne Troutman, President and CEO Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way, and Dr. John Pagana, regional physician, one of the founders of Sunbury's free clinic. We discussed the history of the hospital and it's legacy. We talked about possible mis-management which preceded the closure, what critical health care needs will exist locally, and the ways forward. We spoke of today's Governmental Affairs meeting, a task force, and the opportunities at the former Sunbury Community Hospital.
