A group of Bucknell University students on the upcoming Bucknell Earth Day observance:
Alberto Choussy, Summit, NJ, Senior, Environmental Studies, and Economics
Lily Buckley, Rochester, NY, Senior, Environmental Studies
Rosemary Rong, Nanjing, China, Senior, Environmental Studies, and French
They tell us: “This year, the Walnut Acres Foundation and Bucknell University Environmental Studies department students have collaborated to raise awareness about America’s Original Organic Farm and Climate Smart Agriculture. This family-friendly event will feature a variety of events and interactive activities for children and adults of all ages! Our Earth Day Celebration will include live music performances by local favorite, Billy Kelly. Tomahawk Tacos and the Rusty Rail Brewery will be on-site offering their delicious food and drinks. Children’s activities will include face painting and making seed bombs to bring flowers to your backyard. A friendly 50/50 cornhole tournament will provide some neighborly competition.
Local artisans, including Penns Creek Pottery, will be exhibiting their beautiful crafts for all visitors. We will offer self-guided nature walks around the working organic farm and invite everyone to view Walnut Acres historical exhibits and learn more about organic farming. The 2023 Earth Day Celebration is a great day to visit Walnut Acres Organic Farm. We hope to see you there!.”
