4/19/23 WKOK Sunrise: Shaunna Barnhart and Emma Downey, on this weekend's inaugural exhibit, 'Planted in Place' at the new Milton Municipal Museum

Shaunna Barnhart, PhD, Place Studies Program Director, Bucknell Center for Sustainability and the Environment, and Emma Downey, owner Salamander Yoga, Milton, and TIME's (The Improved Milton Experience) Community Outreach and Project Coordinator, on the opening of an exhibit in Milton: Planted in Place, the inaugural exhibit of the new Milton Municipal Museum. They say, “Planted in Place, the inaugural exhibit of the Milton Municipal Museum, pairs reproductions of Sanborn insurance maps of blocks of south Front Street, with botanical illustrations and specimens of the plant communities that grow along the riverbank and the island adjacent to the building – both native and introduced." "The accompanying text highlights elements of the built and ecological context that illustrate the town’s evolution. This exhibit is the result of a partnership between The Improved Milton Experience and an interdisciplinary collaboration of more than 70 students, faculty, and staff from History, Biology, Environmental Studies, Management, and the Center for Sustainability & the Environment at Bucknell University.  Funding for this project is provided by Bucknell University’s Office of Civic Engagement through a Campus-Community Collaborative Research Grant, The Improved Milton Experience (TIME), and the Bucknell Center for Sustainability & the Environment.”   See TIME’s page on Facebook: The Improved Milton Experience (T.I.M.E.)
