6/22/21 WKOK Sunrise: Danville students SPM program, preventing suicide and addressing mental health

• Emily Morgan, Biology/Science Teacher, Danville Area School District, SPM advisor, and three students;
• Lindsey Cashner, Secretary SPM group, a senior/graduate, headed to US Air Force,
• Gabby Hackett, President SPM group, a senior/graduate, and
• Laura Cashner, PR/Historian SPM group, senior/graduate, to Millersville University to study special education/early childhood education.

We discuss the SPM group, it’s origins, the tragedies which contributed to getting the group started, the early ideas, the successes, the occasional ‘no’s’ they received from the school district and how they overcame setbacks. These three are graduating but the group will continue with many students at DASD, and in other school districts regionally (recorded).
